About

About this site:

No one wants to waste time reading just any old thing. Right? Occasionally there may be times when you could read just about anything, like maybe in line at the post office, but in general you want to find something worth reading. If you are also an aspiring writer, you may even approach this as a chance to read something from which you can borrow a style or technique, craft, if you will. This site, while it may appear random, is dedicated to one mission: helping you, the busy and for the most part discerning reader, find something you really want to read, and potentially borrow from as well. Please come back often, as the blog will become richer for comments and thoughts from readers like you.

About me:

I’m a writing teacher and coach, and reader. I am somewhat left leaning. I am non-linear and messy. I live in Austin, Texas, where at least some of the previous sentence is to be expected.
About my bookstore:

I’d love to help you find something interesting, and by purchasing, you support writing coaches in their work of helping more writers become proficient. Well, one writing coach and blogger, me. Visit the store if you wish.

Very interesting videos on expert village, I only watch “writing a convincing business plan”, but was nevertheless impressed. I also read a little of your blog on Tom Waits and I am pretty pumped about hearing more of his work as this was the first time I was introduced.

So with that said good luck with the start of your blog and thanks.

May I recommend to your members the novel FALLING TO DESTINY by Peter Fleming?

    That’s me.

It’s made it into Amazon’s hot new releases in “adventure fiction” a few times, so people must be enjoying it.

Although framed as adventures in time and space, the novel – which is the first in a series – is designed to raise psychological and social issues while stirring readers as “a really nifty yarn”. It borrows from the traditions of Candide and Gulliver’s Travels, where trips to strange places are occasions for reflection on us as human beings. It freely alludes to everything from Moby Dick to West Side Story, and doesn’t take itself too seriously, although has a serious intent.

Adventure science fiction with a human touch and a good dose of wit.

Check out the blurb at amazon.com, amazon.co.uk or barnesandnoble.com.

Paperback. Great cover great title, fun blurb, great read. It’d look good on your shelf, and would provoke some enjoyable discussion in your group.

    Gratefully,

    Peter Fleming
